Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the method and use of image-text in the teaching of Spanish as a second language. This analysis is based on the multimodal concept in the book "Nos Vemos Hoy 1". Starting from this point, we will talk about the theory of using images in the process of teaching and learning new languages. Also, we will address a joint analysis of the relationship between the image and the text in the book mentioned above as a sample of the study. Our work demonstrates that the multimodal structure that is based on the close relationship between texts and images in the communicative activities of the teaching process-learning, as image and text complement each other to give a panoramic approach to a topic in a context. We simply analyze the texts and images printed within the book. To carry out the study, we have randomly chosen some texts with images from the book "Nos Vemos Hoy 1". Therefore, we use the multimodal factors of semiotics that go in parallel with the linguistic and cultural characteristics in the field of studying Spanish as a second language.
