Abstract

ABSTRACT

Jordi Esteva uses the plot of a travel story to reflect his subjective impressions and his objective views of spaces and worlds that took place on a real trip he had made to remote nations in search of the traces of the Arabs of the sea and of the legendary Sinbad. Through this study, we intend to delve into the importance of space as a fundamental element in the creation of the travel narrative discourse. But our main goal is to highlight the objective and the subjective through the description in this travel book.

In this research work we will try to define the limits of the subjective and the objective by highlighting the role of description in this travel book. Likewise, we will try to explain the role that memory plays in it. In the same way, we will approach the analysis of space. To achieve our goals of this work, we ask ourselves: Who speaks in this book? Who is he addressing in his speech? How is the autobiography of the author constructed? How is the profile of the other characters outlined? We believe that through memory the autobiographical is rearranged and brought back to the forefront.
